Okay, the title analogy may refer to couples, however the same logic can apply between friendships and even ensuring a better work and studying life balance.

Regular exercise has been proven to help improve brain power as well as make you feel better and just generally be healthier.

This is nothing new and a common fact, so how does exercise actually help us with our studying?

Cardio + Resistance x Hot Shower = Bigger Brain

Thomas Crook (a Ph.D., a clinical psychologist and memory researcher) says:

“Cardiovascular health is more important than any other single factor in preserving and improving learning and memory,”

This is because even just one 30-minute cardio session pumps additional blood to your brain, delivering the oxygen and nutrients it needs to perform at maximum efficiency.

This type of exercise also floods the brain with chemicals that enhance and improve functions such as memory, problem solving, and decision making, all critical factors when we are trying to focus on our studying.

Sounds Impressive but How Can We Prove It Will Enhance Exam Results?

At the end of the day, it will still come down to you and how much work you have put in, we are not saying that by jumping on a treadmill, all your problems will be answered and you sail through your exams, however, you will improve your chances of getting the results you want.

Proof of this is in a recent study in the International Journal of Workplace Health Management which goes on to say that:

‘People who exercised during their workday were 23 percent more productive on those days than they were when they didn’t exercise’
